#71 inspired by goodbyes

A tongue in cheek one this evening.

I was going back over the WM list of inspiration to see which I was missing and realised that the prompt for goodbyes was the next on the list. I had several directions to go but then came across a photo of my sadly deceased iPhone and remembered that I had an even better photo of the first iPhone I destroyed that could make a good, light-hearted page.

And it happened to tie in with the prompt for today over at LOAD - to be inspired by the film Psycho! Yes, the prompts this time around take a bit of thinking outside the box - ha ha!

Anyway, the broken glass reminded me of the film poster for some reason and it all came together from there.

I used my February Counterfeit kit, Urban, which appears to be the kit that keeps on giving - I am still nowhere near the bottom of box. I think I might have to retire the scraps to be honest as I am at the point of getting a bit fed up with it and that is not somewhere I want to be with my kits.

Counterfeit Urban kit, #8

Anyway, I have really made a dent in the list of prompts I've missed which makes me feel good and am ready for some new directions and a new kit I think.

I've said it before and I will say it again but if you combine LOAD with Whimsical Musings with Counterfeit kits you get one big pile of success!

New prompt tomorrow so come back and check it out. We love to see your creations over at out Flickr gallery (here) so don't be shy and come and join in the fun!

#71 Inspired by Goodbyes

mid-week post to try and catch up around here. It seems that the flu was more disruptive than the Holidays, but take it from me - it isn't fun being sick over the Holidays. Thankfully, health has been restored to my household and my energy is back full force.

So here are the two ideas I had when Lisa posted this prompt executed.

this was my goodbye to a full year. I did a separate project, choosing a photo I loved from each month (you can check that out over on my blog here).
For this page, I just chose those same pictures and printed them 2x2 for an easy grid.

this second layout is more fun and whimsical. I knew the post would be due on the Sunday my best friend would be going home after a lovely holiday here with me. So I wanted to do a photo documenting our last day photos. This is a tradition (you can check out another page I have done documenting this here).  I used limited supplies and even colors but I feel the pictures pop more because of it.

Hope you had a fine time saying goodbye to the last year and are ready to take on some challenging prompts from us in 2013.

For those of us that said sad/hard goodbyes in 2012, I truly hope you receive comfort and strength to remember the good things about those times and have gratitude for the memories.

xo,
Pamage

Challenge #71 week of 31st December 2012

Happy New Year's Eve everyone. I hope that Christmas was good to you and that Santa filled your stocking with lots of scrapbooking goodies.

Before I talk about this week's challenge, I want to give a huge shout out to Pam who held the fort for me during December while I was away on business.  I'll tell you all about it sometime but just take it from me that it was not glamorous and being in the tropics the first two weeks in December is just too disruptive - ha ha! But bless Pam. She was so supportive and even though she was really ill just before Christmas, she kept it going and posted Tara's wonderful layout for us.

We are both hoping for calmer times in the year to come - though she may have less luck than me with that - *wink, wink*!

Anyway, back to this week's challenge.

I'm not a big fan of  New Year. I always find it a bit sad. The old year is coming to an end and that time is over. See, told you I was a "glass half-empty" type of person... So when I was thinking about the prompt for this week, I decided on the theme of "goodbye".

Now, this doesn't have to be maudlin and sad (like me on NYE!), there are many ways to put a positive spin on this.  It could relate to giving things up as part of new year objectives, or a new direction, new home, new job. You could even interpret as trying out a new design type. Of course if you want to take it down the more literal route, that's fine too and so would a NYE page itself. As ever, this prompt is wide open for you to be creative and inspired in any direction you wish. :-)
